Hey there, Heifers! I find it INCREDIBLY ironic that this episode is releasing late due to my UNPRODUCTIVE WEEK.
I find myself in a constant state of self-improvement, trying to be better. Unfortunately, “better” doesn’t have a finish line. You can always be doing more, learning more, trying more, and it can become frustrating when you find that you’re not able to manage it all. Or, maybe you are, but at what cost? How rude is it that you sacrifice time to “better” when others seem to hit the lottery and soar with no problem? What are you NOT doing that they are??
These are all awful ways to go about life, in my opinion! I’ve mentioned this thought before, but it resurfaced recently that I spend so much time trying to not just be the best, but better than best (wtf does that even mean?) and get so mad when I don’t hit that high bar I’ve set for myself.
So! Put on your velour jumpsuit and let’s get fkin lazy, cow pals!
At the end of the episode, I talked about my discovery of Bardcore–taking popular songs and transforming them into the bard genre (think 1200s-1400s music). I also found a hilarious rendition of “Lay All Your Love On Me” from Mamma Mia but you’re at a witchcraft ritual. I’ve linked them below:
Also, I recently guested on Highly Recommended, a podcast hosted by Michelle Rubin that offers joyful, fun, insightful, life-changing, etc. recommendations each week! We talked about my journey with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (my initiation into the club, if you will), COVID and mental health, and VELOUR JUMPSUITS.
